Stranded
|
Our mouths are our eyes, seeking and searching. What are we looking for? Sound travels through and around the space and we follow it, interact with it, and are moved by it. Sounds accumulate and fill the space. There are too many. Which strands do we follow?
A collaboration between choreographer Jalianne Li and composer Tommaso Perego, "Stranded" (previously "Stranded on a Foreign Planet") looks at the relationship between sound and movement within The Game of Life sound system, a 360 degree immersive sound environment that uses wave field synthesis sound technology. Audience, sound and dancers are located within the space, which is delineated by 192 loudspeakers.
